Notice the marker above the red circle in the recent photo...
then look at the enlarged view of the old church on the left... I think you see the same marker.
A metal commercial building now stands appx where the old church stood.
I don't know if Rev Wm. was pastor of this Methodist church or not, but would guess so.

A Wm Whaley, 1755 - 1819, came to America on a convict ship. Served in Rev War in Capt John Shackleford company of No. Carolina.

Ida Jane Spencer (mama's aunt) m. Benjimen Franklin Maharry. b. Apr 1857. Moved to Russia.

The on Oct 30 1839 she married William Saldon Spencer as Lucy Pierce.....
